Drawings, Various locations
with various companions
This selection of hand drawings belongs to a collection of more than 2500 scanned pages of notebooks, certainly the most mystified companion for the architect. Since hand drawing as been slowly replaced by updated tools in our profession, the relevance of it as an instrument of representation has become questionable.
These notebooks represent an effort to resist to the replacement of such tool, by practicing hand drawing as an exercise, a limited event and relation with places, similar and compatible to the act of making photography. They are romantic abstraction of spatial situation, sometimes of great importance, sometimes of insignificant constructions, showing with few black lines and dots, specific and unique places. They also are an alternative way to continue an education process, individually, a form of annotation that accumulate forms and shapes, creating an internal library for making architecture.
